Porto v Belenenses – Estádio do Dragão at 21:15 (UTC/GMT)

Belenenses will be visiting Porto on Wednesday, hoping to stun the club in the topmost spot of the Portuguese Primeira Liga.

Belenenses are not even a half bad team as they are only beaten trice so far in the current Liga NOS season.

Earlier this month, Bethlehem shared a draw with Tondela, and beat Nacional and Vitoria Guimaraes both with a 1-0 tally. Belenenses’ most recent loss was a 2-1 fall to Sporting CP much earlier this month.

In the previous month, they hammered Desportivo Aves 5-2, shared a 2-2 draw with Rio ave FC, and beat Chaves 1-0.

However, Belenenses are already beaten trice in their Allianz Cup campaign losing ot Porto 1-2, Chaves 0-1, and Varzim 2-1. They also lost 2-0 against FC Porto in their Taca de Portugal Placard campaign last November.

Porto, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last eleven games in the Primeira Liga.

Earlier this month, the Dragons dominated over Chaves 1-4 and shared a goalless draw with Sporting CP. They also beat Nacional 3-1 and Desportivo Aves 0-1.

Porto also lost only once in their Allianz Cup campaign and that was a 2-4 defeat to Sporting CP. They are also unbeaten in their Taca de Portugal Placard record in the current season so far.

Furthermore, the Dragons are breathing fire in the Champions League, being unbeaten in all of their six games in the current season.


– Porto’s Tiquinho Soares will replace André Pereira on the front line.

– Vincent Sasso and Pierre Sagna have doubtful appearances on Wednesday due to minor injuries.

– Vincent Aboubakar, Otavio, and Maxi Pereira are ruled out in Porto’s Wednesday game dues to injuries.

– Tiago Caeiro currently suffers from knee problems and his return is still unknown.

– Porto’s Fernando Andrade will most likely appear in the game but not in the starting lineup. He scored a goal in Porto’s Taca da Liga campaign games with Benfica and Sporting CP and will most likely be boosted on Wednesday.

– Belenenses team manager Silas might put either Andre Santos or Jonathan Lucca in central midfield. Santos is the most likely choice though.

Moussa Marega is the Dragões’ top scorer, already bragging 16 goals across 29 appearances in the season. The French striker had seven goals and six assists across 16 appearances in the Portuguese Liga NOS, 5 goals and two assists in 6 Champions League appearances, as well as two goals in three appearances in the Taça de Portugal Placard.

Tiquinho Soares is next to Marega in the top scorers in Porto. This Brazilian forward has 13 goals in 20 appearances in the current season. Tiquinho already has eight goals and two assists within 13 appearances in the Primeira Liga, as well as two goals and two assists in his three appearances in Taça de Portugal Placard.

Licá or Luís Carlos Pereira Carneiro is one of the highest scorers in O Belem, already scoring six goals in his 24 appearances in the season. The Portuguese winger has five goals and two assists in his 18 plays in the Portuguese top-tier.

Henrique Almeida already scored five goals across 16 appearances in the season. He appeared twelve times in the Liga NOS in the current season and scored five goals and two assists with 138 minutes per goal.

The Dragons are unbeaten in their last eleven games in the Liga NOS and continued rocking abroad in the Champions League, beating Schalke 04 and Loko Moscow. Porto also had a chance to face Belenenses in the Allianz Cup latter in the previous month which concluded in a 1-2 Dragons win over Bethlehem. Belenenses have little chance of dominating over the top teams of the Portuguese top-tier, but they will most likely score at least once as they concluded their last eight games in the Liga NOS with at least a goal.
