Palmeiras v Ferroviaria Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 28th February by @LewisJones1992

Palmeiras v Ferroviaria – Allianz Parque at 20:00

After Saturday’s clash of the minnows we’ll be looking at one of Brazil’s biggest clubs on Sunday evening as eight times national champions Palmeiras host newly promoted Ferroviaria.

Having only gained promoted to the Paulista A1 this season Ferroviaria are performing above everyone’s expectations as they currently sit second in their group level on point with joint favourites for the competition Sao Paulo.

They have however come crashing back down to earth as they fell to a late 3-2 defeat away to Ituano, it’s the only time this season that Ferroviaria haven’t gone off with a + handicap as the line was set to 0.00, but an 86th minute goal by Ruan sent the away side crashing to their first defeat in five games.

It’s been a very stop start campaign for Palmeiras as they threatened to run away with their group in the opening round as they destroyed Botafogo in their back garden by two goals to nil when it could have easily been seven or eight. Since then Palmeiras have drew four lost one and won one but they did look excellent in their previous game against XV Piracicaba as they ran out comfortable 4-1 winners away from home.

Much has been made of the fact that Palmeiras are yet to win a game at home yet this season and with the Copa Libertedores again in midweek many would allow Palmeiras to take this one easy and just move onto the bigger game against Rosario Central.

However Palmeiras manager Marcelo Oliveira has stated that he will be fielding his strongest side with the aim of getting a win and building up a full head of steam ahead of the Copa Libertedores clash, we can expect to see G.Jesus lead the line for Palmeiras and after his midweek exploits in which he bagged himself a brace in his sides 4-1 he’ll be confident of getting on the scoresheet once again.

I like the price for Palmeiras to come out on top in this one at 1.70, I think that come game day the price will probably be around the 1.58 mark which in my opinion would then make Palm to short to back.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Palmeiras -0.5 at 1.70
