Norwich v Everton – Carrow Road at 12:45 live on BT Sport 1
This Saturday’s lunchtime Premier League fixture sees Everton travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich with both sides needing a win.
The Canaries started the season well, losing just 2 of their opening 7 matches, but they head into this match sitting in 16th place, just 2 spots above the relegation zone by the virtue of goal difference.
Norwich have lost 6 of their last 8 league matches, but still prove a tough team to beat, losing four of those by a single goal. They held Arsenal to a 1-1 draw and defeated Swansea 1-0 in their last 2 home matches and will be hoping to make it 3 undefeated at Carrow Road tomorrow.
Alex Neil’s side are tough to break down, conceding twice in their last 3 at home but are struggling at the other end of the pitch. Only Stoke and Aston Villa have scored fewer this season and you feel if they are to take 3 points from this one, they will need to keep a clean sheet.
That’s not going to be easy against an Everton team who can’t stop scoring. The Toffees need 3 points though, having drawn 3 of there last 4 in the BPL.
They sit comfortably mid-table and have performed much better than they did last season. A win today would take them up to 5th, at least temporarily, such is the tight margin in the league.
Everton are unbeaten in their last 7 matches in all competitions but their inconsistency has cost them a higher league position. They haven’t been able to win back to back league matches this term, but the quality is there and you can see real desire from the players.
With Romelu Lukaku scoring in 7 of his last 6 games in all competitions, including 5 on the spin in the league, he is the man who can break down a tough Norwich defence and get the Toffees a much needed 3 points if they are to stay in the hunt for a European spot.
Despite their habit to draw games, Everton are great value to win at 2.53. Norwich have just one win against Swansea in their last 10 matches and don’t offer any value at 2.90.
Everton +\- 0 at 1.85 and -0.25 at 2.19 on the Asian handicap betting market both offer great value if you are a bit nervous about them drawing yet another game, but I expect them to both be profitable.
In terms of goals, Under 2.5 is priced at 1.85 due to Everton’s last 2 and Norwich’s last 4 all seeing less than 3 goals. However, I’m expecting and open match with both sides on the score sheet pushing for a much needed win, making the 2.05 on Over 2.5 an appealing price.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Everton -0.25 at 2.19
