Nice v Montpellier – Allianz Riviera at 16:00 GMT +1 live at BT Sport

Nice ended an eight-match run without a victory on the road by overcoming relegation-haunted Dijon 1-0 last time out. Head coach Patrick Vieira was pleased with his team’s performance in both boxes and encouraged both his players and Les Aiglons’ supporters to dream about European qualification.

Pierre Lees-Melou notched the only goal of the game at the Stade Gaston Gerard with Danilo also hitting the woodwork against Dijon. It wasn’t Nice’s finest display of the campaign but it did feature an excellent effort from Wylan Cyprien, who looked back to his best after recovering from long-term injury.

The French Riviera outfit took their time getting up and running under the World Cup winner, taking top honours in only three of his opening 10 tussles as they adjusted to life under Viera, and without a whole host of last season’s stars. However, progress has since been made and the Cote d’Azur club are in the heady heights of seventh before welcoming Montpellier.

Nice return home to the Allianz Riviera defending a decent record as hosts.  Les Aiglons have W6-D3-L0 here since mid-October, conceding only two goals in that sample. In fact, Vieira’s troops have W7-D3-L2 here since September, leaking just seven goals across 18 hours of action on the Cote d’Azur.

Keep Nice onside on Sunday

Considering Nice’s strong defensive foundations and solid claims, I’m happy to support the hosts at 1.85 off a scratch zero start on the Asian Handicap market on Sunday afternoon. Working in the exact same way as the Draw No Bet market, we’ll see our stake returned should the game end all-square.

Visitors Montpellier have seen their season nosedive since Bonfire Night. La Paillade were in second spot having W7-D4-L1 across their opening 12 contests whilst silencing seven of their opponents. However, Michel Der Zakarian’s men have W3-D8-L6 in their following 17 outings, keeping just four clean sheets.

Montpellier have shipped 15 goals in their most recent five fixtures and conceded at least twice in five of their last seven matches. The away side have managed W3-D7-L5 when travelling to teams in 11th and above, and failed to score in 11/34 (32%) of road trips under Der Zakarian’s tutelage.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Nice +0.00 (DNB) at 1.850
