Newcastle v Everton Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 26th December by @SC457

Newcastle v Everton – St James’ Park at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1

After a shocking start to the season, winning just twice in their opening 14 league matches, Newcastle welcome Everton to St. James’ Park having won 2 of their last 3 fixtures. Unbeaten in 3, the Magpies are the value bet on the Asian Handicap betting market, even against the free scoring Toffeemen this Boxing Day.

With wins against Liverpool and Tottenham in recent weeks, Newcastle have pulled themselves out of the relegation zone, albeit by just 2 points, but things are looking brighter for Steve McClaren.

They have looked like a completely different side in their last 3 matches, even in their 1-1 draw with bottom of the table Aston Villa last weekend. They genuinely look impressive and if their recent form continues, they should avoid a battle at the end of the season.

Newcastle are the underdogs going into this game however, but against an Everton side that are without a win in 4, the 3.25 on Newcastle looks to be a generous price.

Everton have been excellent going forward this season, averaging 1.82 goals a game, only Man City and Leicester have scored more. Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Gerard Deulofeu have been superb and helping the Toffee’s to score in 15 of their 17 league games this term.

Despite their potency in attack, they sit 10th in the league 6 points adrift of the top 4. Everton concede too many goals, only the bottom 7 teams have leaked more goals and as a result they have won just 2 of their last 11 BPL matches. Their inability to win games makes the 2.29 for an away win too short to back, especially against a confident Newcastle side who have scored 6 in their last 4 matches.

With Everton’s in-form strikers, but lack of solidity at the back, and Newcastle on a good run, but inconsistent in defence, this one has goals written all over it and Over 2.5 is priced at a generous 1.83.

For my recommendation though, I’m with the Magpies, who I believe can nick this one. Another underdog to cover on the Asian Handicap betting market with a really good chance of picking up another 3 points.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Newcastle +0.25 at 1.97
