NBA Match Previews – 7th December Friday

Celtics v Knicks

The New York Knicks will be coming to Boston on Friday to take on the Celtics, and it seems like they will play without the assistance of Trey Burke due to a knee sprain. However, Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown has been suffering from a lower back injury but he is anticipated to play on Friday night’s clash against the Knicks following his statement that he is looking forward to being present on Friday.

After a bit of a shaky campaign, the Boston Celtics were able to come out victorious in three straight games including a 118-109 success against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday. It should be expected that they will come on Friday’s match looking to extend their winning streak to four games as they deal with the Knicks. Gordon Hayward, who just recently recuperated from a horrible ankle injury he underwent last season, boasts a season-high 30 points, nine rebounds and eight assists.

With just less than a day of rest ahead of them, the Boston Celtics will be looking to ride out their brand-new energy to claim another victory over the New York Knicks who are currently ranked 1th in the Eastern Conference. In the meantime, the Knicks will also be playing without their third highest scorer on the team. Trey Burke will likely miss out on Friday’s clash after suffering from a knee injury. However, his injury isn’t expected to keep him out of the game for too long.

Emmanuel Mudiay, who also started the previous 11 games for New York, will likely continue his impressive form on Friday. The last time these two teams encountered each other was just last month where Knicks saw their six-game losing streak come to an end when they claimed a 109-117 victory.

Trail Blazers v Suns

The Portland Trail Blazers will be hosting the Phoenix Suns on Friday for their heated NBA face-off. Both the Trail Blazers and the Suns were recently defeated by the Sacramento Kings and the Dallas Mavericks respectively. Portland’s struggles followed them to Dallas last Tuesday as they dropped their third consecutive game with a 111-102 loss to Mavericks due to poor offensive ways.

Portland Trail Blazers have now been defeated in 8 of their previous 11 games. They also experienced some challenges in handling the ball, a recurring theme for their performance this season. On the bright side, Damian Lillard led the Blazers in their recent clash against the Mavs, scoring 33 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists.

The Phoenix Suns, on the other hand, also lost to the Sacramento Kings in a quite disappointing 105-122 turnout. Prior to that, Phoenix also experienced quite a rough game when they dropped their fifth consecutive match as they were dominated on the road by the Los Angeles Lakers in a 120-96 defeat on Sunday afternoon.

Who among these two will come out triumphant? Catch the battle between the Blazers and the Suns on Friday, 3:00 GMT.

Jazz v Rockets

Houston Rockets will be heading to Utah on Friday to come face to face with the Jazz in what is an anticipated match in the NBA League. The Rockets are now levelled with the San Antonio Spurs for the 12th place in the Western Conference. Even though that puts them approximately close to the bottom of the conference table, they are just five games behind the top-seeds Los Angeles Clippers and the Denver Nuggets.

The Rockets have the opportunity to make u for their quite satisfactory performance over the next couple of weeks with six consecutive games against other Western Conference opposition with the likes of Utah Jazz.

In the meantime, the Utah Jazz will be coming into this match fresh off the back of a 139-105 victory against the San Antonio Spurs. Since securing Kyle Korver, the Jazz holds a record of 3-1 this season with victories against the Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and now the Spurs. Utah managed to improve to a 3-6 at home after their absolute domination of the Spurs.

Two remarkably impressive teams; who will dominate the Vivint Smart Home Arena on Friday?
