NBA Asian Handicap Match Previews – 28th February Thursday

Heat v Warriors

An interconference clash is set to take place when the Golden State Warriors make the trek to the American Airlines Arena to take on the Miami Heat for some NBA action. Golden State recently knocked off the Charlotte Hornets (121-110) on the road, while Miami was recently edged at home by Phoenix Suns in a 124-121 outcome. The leading team in the Western Conference will definitely want to keep their hot streak going when they go against Miami Heat.

The Golden State Warriors will be looking to claim another victory after coming out triumphant in 20 of their 24 previous games. They recently bounced back from a loss at home against the Houston Rockets when they edged passed the Hornets. The Warriors are first in the league, currently having an average of 118.8 points on 49% shooting, also allowing at least 112 points on a 44.7% shooting. Star man Stephen Curry is currently averaging on 28.4 points and 5.3 assists. Furthermore, Golden State won 12 of their last 13 games on the road.

The Miami Heat, on the other hand, are desperate for a win after being defeated in 9 of their previous 11 games. They also lost their third consecutive game when they were defeated by Phoenix, which is the worst team in the Western Conference right now. Miami will enter the clash against the Warriors, currently seated at the 10th place in the Eastern standings. The Miami Heat have gone against the Warriors over the years, which included a defeat on the road two weeks ago.

Though Miami seem like a team that’s already given up this season, they have a clutch ability of upping their game against top-ranked teams. However, the Golden State Warriors will enter the clash against Miami as the favourites to come out as winners.

Celtics v Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers will be making a trip to the TD Garden to face the Bolton Celtics in an NBA clash. Portland will be coming into this match fresh off the back of a 123-110 away victory against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Boston Celtics, in the meantime, recently lost to the Toronto Raptors with a 118-95 outcome.

Portland Trail Blazers are looking for another victory after coming out victorious in eight of their previous 11 games. They also won four of their most recent six games on the road, which includes the first three since the All-Star break. Portland are averaging on 113.8 points on 46.5% shooting, with Damian Lillard averaging on 25.8 points and 6.5 assists. Portland are currently seated at the 4th spot in the West, with a 13-15 record on the road.

The Boston Celtics, on the other hand, could really use a win after losing five of their previous seven games. They have been much improved at home this season though, winning four of their previous six home games. Boston will be entering this game fresh off the back of three consecutive losses against the Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, and the Toronto Raptors.

Furthermore, the Celtics are currently on the 5th spot in the Eastern Conference, averaging on 112.8 points on 46.4% shooting. Star player Kyrie Irving is averaging on 23.8 points and 6.9 assists, while Jayson Tatum is on 16.4 points as well as 6.3 rebounds.

The Portland Trail Blazers have really become one of the hottest teams in the NBA this season. It’s safe to say that they are currently the favourites to win this matchup considering their records and their recent performances. The Boston Celtics shouldn’t be underestimated though since they have the home court advantage, and they have been better at home this season.

Lakers v Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to break their two-game losing streak when they welcome the New Orleans Pelicans at the Staples Center for their NBA showdown. The Pelicans, on the other hand, will be taking on the Lakers with the purpose of going for their second victory in their previous three games after failing to keep a two-game winning run when they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers in their last contest.

The Los Angeles Lakers, caught up in controversy and dismay, have dropped to the 11th spot in the Western Conference standings. They are now three games behind the San Antonio Spurs, who are currently at the 8th and final playoff spot. With 22 games left in the regular season, the Lakers will have to be better in order to finish strong if they want to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Los Angeles Lakers are currently averaging on 112.2 points on 47.4% shooting. LeBron James leads the Lakers with an average of 26.8 points and 7.8 assists.

On the other hand, the New Orleans Pelicans are just below the LA Lakers in the Western standings. However, the Pelicans did manage to come out victorious against the Lakers over the weekend with a 128-115 final score line. This was probably the most satisfying victory for New Orleans this season, and they will most likely enter this game in high spirits after overpowering their opponents.

The Pelicans are averaging on 115.6 points on 47.7% shooting with Anthony Davis leading the team on an average of 27.6 points and 12.6 rebounds. Furthermore, they were successful in 7 of their previous 10 clashes against the Lakers all throughout.

With everything considered, the Lakers are the ones who will be desperate to prove something here. The Lakers are playing at home and are frantic for a spot in the playoffs. The New Orleans Pelicans, meanwhile, are surrounded with issues revolving their key player. One thing’s for sure though; the clash between these two teams is going to be epic.
