Monaco v Tottenham Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Thursday 1st October by @SC457

Monaco v Tottenham – Stade Louis II at 18:00 live on BT Sport Europe

After a poor start to the season, Tottenham have now won their last 3 league matches and their opening Europa League match against Qarabag 3-1. They did suffer a League Cup defeat to North London rivals Arsenal last week, but that clearly didn’t affect them as they thrashed Man City in the Premier League last Saturday 4-1 and their confidence is growing

Monaco haven’t had the best of starts to their domestic or European campaigns so far either, but there hasn’t been the same turn-around we’ve seen with Spurs. Les Rouges et Blancs have only won 3 of their 8 Ligue 1 matches and could only manage a draw away to Anderlecht in their opening UEL fixture.

The departure of Anthony Martial was well publicised, and could cost Monaco, the young Frenchman has hit the ground running at Old Trafford and looks to be the real deal. At the other end, Monaco also sold defender Aymen Abdennour, whose presence is sorely missed. Monaco have conceded 13 goals in their opening 8 games in the league, including 3 against Guingamp at the weekend, throwing away the lead 3 times.

Spurs have started to score, 10 in their last 5 games in all competitions. New signing Son Heung-min has come in and immediately started scoring and Harry Kane finally got off the mark at the weekend. With Tottenham scoring freely and Monaco’s leaky defence the price of 2.30 on Over 2.5 goals looks to be a bit of value. It would have been a winner in 4 of the French sides last 5 matches at Stade Louis II.

Spurs come into the match on the back of a few impressive wins in the league and momentum will be with them. Monaco’s match price of 2.30 looks far too short based on their form this season so their is some value on the Lillywhites on the Asian Handicap betting market.

Backing the North Londoners +0.25 at 2.04 will see us pick up a half win if they draw and a full return if they are to come away with all 3 points. Pochettino will be looking for the win to put them in control of their group and I wouldn’t back against them doing so.

Aian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Tottenham +0.25 at 2.04
