Milwaukee Bucks at Toronto Raptors – Air Canada Centre at 22:10 live on BT Sport 1
The turkeys done, the relatives have cleared away no-one has anything to get up for tomorrow so what better way to spend the night than with some NBA action.
At 10pm UK time, the Milwaukee Bucks roll into Toronto to face the Raptors on a game that is live on BT Sport.
This is the third time that these two teams have faced off so far in 2015/16 and it’s the Raptors holding the 2-0 season series lead. With home court advantage to help them, the Raptors ran away with things in November by 19 points before a better showing by the Bucks 2 weeks ago saw them go down by 7. Both of these games were on the road for the Bucks.
The Raptors face a whole new wave of challenges on Boxing Day however if they are to make it 3 from 3. Having won only 2 of their last 5 games, the Raptors are missing their key man in DeMarre Carroll on top of 4 other squad shortages. They now face pulling players from the D-League to make up a squad which will surely make them vulnerable tonight. DeMar DeRozean isn’t 100% but is now being forced into high amounts of game time to cover the shortfalls elsewhere on the court.
The angle I am taking into the game is playing up to the weakness that Toronto are bringing into the game. Milwaukee are no superstar team, however if they are ever going to beat a team like Toronto, tonight is the night.
The Bucks have a winning home record so far this season running at 9-7 including the one and only defeat of the mighty Golden State Warriors. Giannis Antetokounmpo looked sharp against the 76ers after missing a game for knee trouble and the Bucks are now near enough to 100% for tonight’s game.
If the Bucks can take advantage of penetration into the paint and continue to rack points in the paint (currently 2nd in the NBA), it will be tough for this makeshift Raptors line up to keep pace. It makes sense why the line makers would make the Raptors favourite however the sheer volume of issues that Toronto bring into the game, make the Bucks the value call as underdogs.
