Manchester City v West Ham Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 28th August by @SC457

Today’s Asian Handicap betting preview focuses on the Etihad Stadium where Man City host West Ham. The Hammers defeated City here last season but are big underdogs to repeat that this afternoon.

The Citizens come in to the match as 1.29 favourites after a perfect start to their season. New boss Pep Guardiola has guided his side to 4 wins from 4.

They edged past Sunderland in their Premier League opener 2-1, but were superb when thumping Stoke at the Britannia last Saturday 4-1. They have also defeated Steaua Bucharest 6-0 on aggregate to cruise into the group stages of the Champions League.

Anyone who thought that it would take Guardiola time to get across his philosophy to the City players has been proved wrong. New signings Nolito and John Stones have hit the ground running. Kolarov has been impressive when switched to centre back, and Aguero is flourishing with 6 goals in 3 games.

The signs are all there that this could be a very impressive side both domestically and in Europe.

West Ham haven’t started the season so well. They opened with a uninspiring defeat at Chelsea before nicking a 1-0 at home to Bournemouth. A match as equally uninspiring.

Worse though, was their defeat over two legs to Romanians Astra Giurgiu in their UEL qualifier. Slaven Bilic was left infuriated and there will be no European football after an excellent EPL campaign last season.

If early signs are a thing to go by this time round, their season might be something of an anti-climax. They have been left frustrated by a number of injuries however.

New boy Andre Ayew is out until November. Talented youngster Manuel Lanzini hasn’t played yet neither has star man Dimitri Payet.

The France international is key to the Hammers success. When involved West Ham have won just over 48% of matches compared to just 22% when he’s absent.

The Irons still have the talent and tactical qualities from last season, but with an injury hampered side, low on confidence they will struggle today. Especially against a side who are in form like City.

Despite West Ham winning this fixture last term, their record away to City is poor. They have lost 8 of their last 10 meeting against the Citizens in the road.

Man City are short here but I expect another comfortable win. To find the value, turn to the Asian Handicap betting market, where they can be back -1.5 at 1.85.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Man City -1.5 at 1.85
