Man City v Liverpool Asian Handicap Preview – Sunday 19th March by @tashason21

Man City v Liverpool – Etihad Stadium at 16:30 live on Sky Sports 1

My latest Asian Handicap preview focuses on the huge Premier League tie between Man City and Liverpool.

This game is a must win clash for both sides, with it’s huge implications in regards to who will clinch a Champions League spot next season.

Man City

Mid-week in the Champions League, City were knocked out of the competition on away goals, after drawing 6-6 on aggregate with Monaco.

They’ll be looking to bounce back with a win over Liverpool.

City are 1 point ahead of their opponents and are 3rd in the Premier League table. They also have a game in hand.

In their last league game, Man City drew 0-0 at The Etihad against Stoke City, although they’ve scored in all but 1 of their home games this season.

The home side are unbeaten at The Etihad in their last 6 matches, although they have conceded at least 1 goal in 77% of their home games to date.

Liverpool have proved tough to beat in recent seasons and City have lost their last 4 Premier League encounters against The Reds.

Other than fighting for a Champions League spot, Man City also have a FA Cup semi-final against Arsenal to look forward to.

The Reds have had a terribly inconsistent season and they will be focused on beating City, to take them one step closer to an all important Champions League spot next season.

Liverpool have struggled against the smaller teams this campaign, as they have proved with defeats against Leicester (3-1) and Hull (2-0) recently.

However, when taking on the top 6 sides in the league, they have the best record with 19 points, 6 more than Chelsea and 12 more than their opponents Man City.

Liverpool also come into this game off the back of 2 Premier League victories against Arsenal (3-1) and Burnley (2-1).

On their travels however, they’ve lost back to back games against Hull and Leicester.

Asian Handicap Prices

Back in December, Liverpool won the reverse fixture 1-0, courtesy of a single goal scored by Wijnaldum.

Man City are the favourites to win this tie however and they look value -0.5 on the Asian Handicap market at 1.99.

I am expecting The Citizens to bounce back from their Champions League exit with a win at The Etihad.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Man City -0.5 at 1.99
