Manchester United v Liverpool Asian Handicap Preview – Saturday 10th March

Manchester United v Liverpool – Old Trafford at 12:30

Two classic rivals meet at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon with the quest for second place in the Premier League much on the agenda.

The last meeting

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 0-0 draw, with Jose Mourinho’s tactics coming under much scrutiny.

The Manchester United manager set his team up to sit deep and be robust, with little attacking intent shown. The former Chelsea manager had his goalkeeper David De Gea to thank for keeping his side in the game, especially thanks to a world-class save to deny Joel Matip the winner.

Will Mourinho employ the same tactics?

There’s no doubt that Mourinho is one of the best managers in the world when it comes to setting up his side to frustrate the opposition. He’s done it against plenty of top sides in the past, including Liverpool.

Will the United manager employ the same tactics in this match or will he look to release his side’s attacking talent?

As the home side against their bitter rivals, there’s no doubt that the onus will be on United to take the game to the Reds, but it’s difficult to see Mourinho leaving his side so open.

It will no doubt be an interesting matchup tactically.

Reds on fire

The difference between the 0-0 draw earlier on in this season and this match is that Liverpool comes into this game on fire. They’re playing their best football of the season and look able to beat anyone on their day, as they showed against United’s cross-city rivals, Manchester City.

Mohammed Salah and Roberto Firmino are amongst the goals, whilst Sadio Mane has enjoyed good goalscoring form of late, so expect the usual firepower from Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
