Manchester United v Chelsea – Old Trafford at 14:05

While Tottenham travels across London to play Crystal Palace on Sunday, all eyes are on the day’s second game as Chelsea travel up north to play Manchester United.

Battle of the managers

Much was made recently about the feud between Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte. The pair were like school children clashing on the playground as they threw insults at each other continuously.

Things have quietened down for now, but Sunday is the first time the two managers will meet since their very public feud.

There’s no doubt it will be tense and fiery on the touchline as the two managers, both of whom are passionate, take battle at Old Trafford.

From Barcelona to Manchester

Chelsea’s 1-1 draw against Barcelona in midweek was a huge result for the club. Barcelona is arguably the best team in the world and Chelsea more than showed their worth as they frustrated the Spaniards for the majority of the game.

It was a mistake that let Barcelona back into the game, and Antonio Conte will be disappointed with that. However, it was an excellent result and great practice for the trip to Manchester United.

Mourinho’s revenge

Jose Mourinho was once the Prince of Stamford Bridge, but there has been a sense of bitterness since he was sacked in his second spell in the club.

Mourinho is the type of man who craves revenge and will want to do everything he can to prove to Chelsea that he is the best manager on Sunday.

Two pragmatic styles

While the game will no doubt be fiery and passionate, don’t expect too much attacking intent from either side. Granted there will be some fantastic attacking talent on show, including Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez, but both managers have a pragmatic style and will first and foremost want to avoid losing.

Will Pogba feature?

Much was made in the week of Paul Pogba’s omission from the starting lineup as Manchester United played away to Sevilla in the Champions League. As it turned out, Pogba played the majority of the game as Ander Herrera pulled up injured early on and had to be replaced.

There have been rumors of a rift between Pogba and his manager, so it’ll be interesting to see whether Mourinho trusts the Frenchman in what is one of the biggest matches of the season.
