Man United v Liverpool Match Betting Odds – 24th February Sunday

Man United v Liverpool – Old Trafford at 14:05 GMT Live at Sky Sports

A mouth-watering North-West derby is set to take place on Sunday when Liverpool travel to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United for their Premier League showdown. The rivalry between these two sides is massive. A lot of aggression and thrillers will definitely be present when these two meet since both sides are in need of points. This fixture could also be one of the crucial matches in the race for the Premier League title this season.

Liverpool are currently seated at the second spot behind Manchester City on goal difference. On the bright side, they will be coming into this match fresh off the back of two straight clean sheets. The Reds will be desperate to claim as much victories they can get their hands on in order to overtake City in the standings and keep their title hopes alive.

However, Jurgen Klopp’s men failed to come out victorious in 8 of their previous 9 Premier League outings to Old Trafford, losing 7 of those as well. Facing a solid team with a home advantage seems like a tough test for the Reds despite being the favourites to win this match.

On the other hand, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has faced a non-problematic start as the caretaker manager of Manchester United. However, his men have definitely been put to test when they encountered the first of three massive challenges. One of which is in the form of Paris Saint-Germain during their Champions League clash.

Their 2-0 loss to PSG shouldn’t be a reason for them to worry though. They were able to bounce back on Monday night with a terrific display against Chelsea in the FA Cup. Apart from this, they are victorious in 8 of their 9 league fixtures ever since the sacking of Jose Mourinho, hauling them up into the top four.

–          Anthony Martial and Jesse Lingard are reported to be ruled out for Manchester United due to groin and thigh injuries respectively.

–          Dejan Lovren will likely be missing out on the clash at Old Trafford due to a thigh injur. He also missed out on Liverpool’s draw with Bayern Munich.

–          Joe Gomez is also ruled out of the game after suffering from an ankle injury.

–          Virgil Van Dijk is expected to return on Sunday after being suspended during their match against Bayern.

Man United

Paul Pogba is playing the best football of his career under new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. His skills have developed immensely under Solskjaer as evident in United’s performances lately. He has quickly become one of the best midfielders in the world and he won’t be slowing down anytime soon.

Marcus Rashford’s ability as a forward has been hindered under Jose Mourinho. Ever since the their new boss took over, he has been playing in his full potential. He has been involved in almost all of United’s vital matches so far this season.

Virgil van Dijk has been an influential force for Liverpool since he transferred to the club. He has proven to be the best in his position which can be seen in almost all of his performances for the Reds. He is one of Liverpool’s key players who helped secure victories for the team.

Mohamed Salah is currently one of the leading players in the top goal-scoring charts in the Premier League. With his world-class and deadly abilities, he is proven to be quite a threat for Liverpool’s opponents. He has scored 49 goals so far this season.

Man United v Liverpool: 2-2

A draw seems to be on the cards between these two teams. There is enough attacking power on either side to guarantee that this match could produce a couple of goals. Liverpool will most likely enter this match desperate for a victory, while Manchester United will be aiming to put a dent to their opponents’ hopes for the Premier League title.

The Red Devils are just a point above Arsenal and Chelsea in the race for the top-four finish, and they would obviously want to increase the gap between them. It could be possible for United to win this match, especially with how great things are going for them as well as the home advantage.

However, Liverpool won’t be succumbing to loss that easily though, and they could prove to be a challenging test for Manchester United.
