Championship & Serie A Previews
Fulham V Watford 19:45
Fulham welcome Watford to Craven Cottage this evening for their first league fixture since 2007. The hosts started the season terribly, taking 9 games to record their first win. Since the departure of Felix Megathe, Kit Symons has stepped in and turned things around for the west Londoners, with 21 of their 22 points coming since he took charge.
Watford started the season with real intent, with 5 wins in their first 7. But having registered only 3 wins in their last 12, has seen them fall out the play-off places to 7th. Watford are on a run of 4 straight defeats and confidence is low.
Due to recent form, and the fact Fulham are at home with virtually a full strength team, I think the home side will win this one. The value bet for me is to back Fulham to Win @ 2.3.
Fiorentina V Juventus 19:45
Top of the table Juventus take on 8th place Fiorentina on Friday night in what could be a really good game. Fiorentina’s form has been a little indifferent so far this season but have won their last 2 in Serie A, including a very impressive 4-0 win away to Cagliari last weekend. The Viola are already 15 points behind their opponents after 13 matches, scoring half the amount of goals and conceding more than double.
The Old Lady are on a run of 4 straight league wins, scoring 14 and conceding just 1. They have the best played/points ratio in the top five European Leagues of 2.6. Fiorentina don’t have history on their side in this one either as no other opponent has won against them more. Juve, although away from home are the advised trade here. Juventus to Win @ 2.1.
