LA Lakers at Washington Wizards Handicap Betting Preview – Thursday 3rd December by @ChrisOgle2

LA Lakers at Washington Wizards – Verizon Centre at 00:00

On Wednesday night at Midnight UK time, there appears to be a decent betting angle involving two relatively ugly teams, as the Lakers continue their road sequence at the Verizon Centre to face Wizards in Washington.

The Lakers continue to find ways to lose games having won only 2 of their 17 games so far this season. They reached a new low last night managing to start the match as underdogs to the played 18 lost 18 Philly 76ers and losing by 12.

Kobe Bryant’s swansong season is proving to be one of his most difficult. In his last 4 outings, Kobe has shot for a stunningly bad 24%. With his horrible recent numbers, there is little hope for the Lakers on Wednesday night. That only prayer can be in the inconsistency of their opponents.

There can be no more frustrating team in the league than the Wizards. Last night they headed to Cleveland to land an unexpected, but nonetheless brilliant win against the Cavs. John Wall landed 35 points, and the defence held Cleveland to only 33% from the field. It’s not always trustworthy to expecting them to repeat the dose once hitting form, however the Lakers are so incredibly bad, it’s hard to oppose the home team.

No-one, including the Washington squad itself seems to have any idea what is going to happen next with the Wizards. Washington centre Marcin Gortat was quoted after the win over the Cavs “We are an unpredictable team, Last year, we proved we could beat good teams by 20, but we can lose at Philly. We are a crazy team.”
15+ point defeats to Boston twice, Oklahoma, the Knicks and Indiana highlight how much the Wizards can struggle when things don’t click. However, they must be licking their lips facing the Lakers.

The Lakers are 3-7 against the spread on the road this season, going 0-3 when a 9.5 point or greater underdog. This during a period where big underdogs can be backed blind for profit over the past 5 season. Despite the Wizards inconsistency, backing them against the spread at home is still making you money this season winning 4, and losing 3.

If Washington show up here, the Lakers can expect a pounding. Even if they don’t, the Lakers may just choose to beat themselves up.

Handicap Betting Recommendation: Wizards -9.5 at 1.90
