LA Clippers at Brooklyn Nets Handicap Betting Preview – Saturday 12th December by @ChrisOgle2

LA Clippers at Brooklyn Nets – Barclays Centre at 22:00 live on BT Sport 1

More NBA BT Sport action on Saturday night as the Brooklyn Nets (7-15) host the LA Clippers (13-10) live at 10pm UK time.

Certain bogey teams can have a habit of getting under your skin. A way of winding you up to the point of breaking. The Clippers are defiantly my bogey team in 2015/16.

Let’s break this down. On paper, the Clippers should be way better than they are. A likely starting 5 including Blake Griffin, JJ Redick and Chris Paul have the ability to mix it with the very best. Despite holding a winning record of 13-10, they have an ugly 8-13 record against the spread. Time and time again, they have given up backdoor cover after backdoor cover.

Putting emotion to one side, primarily the main reason for the Clippers inability to see off inferior teams has come from a lack of support from the bench. Go past the big superstars and the remainder of the roster just haven’t delivered.

On top of their bench problems, the Clippers also have a dreadful record heading to the Nets to contend with. They have lost their last 7 games when making the long journey east, and have only registered 1 win since 2000.

It would be no surprise to see the Clippers jumps into an early lead but if the rest of the season is to be an indicator, don’t expect them to kick on and win well.

As for the Nets, despite having a very modest overall record, the Nets have been excellent at the Barclays centre in 2015/16 winning 6 of the last 7. Going through the roster they don’t really have a big name superstar to speak of, but they keep the scoreboard ticking throughout the use of the bench.

Brooklyn despite their limitations, still have the 3rd highest points in the paint record in the NBA. Thad Young is averaging over 12 points per game from short range and starts on Saturday night.

Bookmakers make the Nets 3.50 underdogs against the 1.45 Clippers. With a record as horrible as LA have in New York / New Jersey, I’d struggle to part with any money on them as such short odds. Chance a punt on the Nets on the money line to extend their good home run.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Brooklyn Nets at 3.50
