Juventus v Real Madrid Asian Handicap Preview – Tuesday 5th May

Juventus v Real Madrid – Juventus Stadium at 19:45 live on ITV1

The Champions League semi finals are upon us and what a couple of games we have in store for some Asian Handicap betting value, starting with Juve hosting Real in Turin this evening.

Both sides narrowly made it through their quarter finals 1-0 on aggregate, but we’re hoping for more goals across the two legs in what should be an exciting UCL tie between 2 of Europe’s heavyweights.

Real Madrid are favourites to make it to the final at 1.44, but some punters may fancy the 3.2 on Juve due to their defensive display against Monaco in the last round and throughout their domestic season.

The Old Lady certainly won’t make it easy for Los Blancos, especially at home tonight. Manager Massimiliano Allegri will be looking to keep a clean sheet and I’m sure would be happy with a 0-0. Ancelotti however, may push for an away goal after a nervous second leg against Atletico in the previous round, nicking the winner late on after Atleti were reduced to 10 men.

Juventus struggled somewhat in their group, losing twice, finishing 2nd to Atletico Madrid who took 4 points from them. They’ve made light work of the Serie A this season wrapping up their 4th consecutive title last weekend but that possibly has more to do with the lack of competition in their league.

They did impress however against Borussia Dortmund in the last 16, defeating the German side 2-1 at home before a dominant display in Dortmund, winning 3-0. They wasn’t as convincing against Monaco but you can only beat the team in front of you and went through courtesy of a stronger defence, a tough thing to do against the competitions best rearguard.

Real Madrid cruised into the knockout stages, comfortably topping group B, winning all 6 games. Their last 16 match against Schalke showed some weaknesses though, after comfortably picking up a 2-0 win in Germany they went on to lose 4-3 at the Bernabeu. This loss coincided with a dip in league form, picking up just 1 win in 4 La Liga matches throughout March, losing twice and handing back the advantage to Barcelona in the process.

Since March, Real Madrid have not lost a match, winning 7 straight league games. Their 1-0 aggregate win over Atletico might not have been hugely impressive but we saw spells of dominance. Real had already lost twice in the league, knocked out of the Copa Del Ray and lost the Super Cup to Atleti, not beating them in 6 matches this year so the aggregate win over Simeone’s side was massive and will fill them with confidence.

Real trail Barca by 2 points in La Liga with 3 to play but kept the pressure on their rivals at the weekend, beating Sevilla away, the first team to do so in 33 matches, this shows the form they are in.

Los Blancos are without Modric and Benzema, but Pogba is arguably a bigger loss for Juventus and is likely to be out for the rest of the season.

There isn’t much value on the Over/Under market as a a low scoring game is expected and its best to stay away Under 2.5 at 1.65.

The value lies with Real Madrid, their recent form and history in the competition makes them a good bet on the Asian Handicap betting market. Backing them +/- 0 at odds against is our recommendation for tonight’s match.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Real Madrid 0 (Draw No Bet) @ 2.08
