Argentina v Mexico

Argentina will be hosting Mexico for their second battle in just a matter of days but in Argentina’s base this time around and hoping to repeat Saturday’s triumph against their opponents. They will be looking forward to impress in front of the Estadio Malvinas Argentinas with a rotated line-up on Wednesday.

Argentina have been a bit unpredictable beforehand and their victory in Cordoba marked their return of their winning performances after Brazil turned a narrow challenge their way with a last minute winning goal from Joao Miranda. They have been encountering problems in regards to having winning results and they now look for their only first streak of two consecutive wins since last year and with Lionel Messi in their turf, Argentina are always going to be included among the favourites for the competition.

On the other hand, Mexico are currently having a crisis at the moment and their defeat last week was the sixth in seven ousters for Ricardo Ferretti’s team even though they managed to reach the 8th Finals of the World Cup. They will come into this match desperate to end their unwanted losing streak. Mexico started this year’s campaign in an almost perfect performance, bagging a victory against reigning champions Germany which was followed by a win over South Korea before succumbing to the loss against Sweden on Matchday three.

It’s been a challenging return to action with the Brazilian manager Ricardo Ferretti taking charge. Following their two losses in their two previous games at the World Cup, Mexico have managed only one victory in their last eight fixtures which included defeats to Chile and Uruguay. Can they claim a victory against Argentina this time? Estadio Malvinas Argentinas should expect a solid encounter between the two sides this Wednesday.

Panama v Ecuador

Panama have greatly struggled to make an impact during the 2018 FIFA World Cup after they secure a place in the most anticipated World Cup qualifiers and they have been struggling as of the moment to bounce back after an underwhelming campaign with three defeats and a draw to Korea Republic in four ousters since then.On Wednesday, Panama will be hosting Ecuador for their Friendly clash and seeking to finally end their prolonged and unwanted losing streak where they really struggled to consistently score goals including their defeat to Honduras last Saturday.

Ecuador will also be looking to capitalize on the troubles of their opponents and cause a thrashing for their rivals at the Ciudad de Panama to continue their win against Peru and a more solid streak of recent wins where they managed to bag three victories and a draw in their previous five fixtures. The only loss Ecuador suffered was during their match against Qatar. The team has been quite solid in their defense, having four clean sheets throughout the way.

However, Panama have never beaten Ecuador in their four head-to-head battles so far while the latter already managed to earn a 4-0 victory in the sides’ previous meeting which was their third success. It should be expected that Ecuador will come out victorious in this fixture against Panama. They were able to defeat Peru just recently and it seems they have what it takes to overpower Panama as well.

Peru v Costa Rica

Costa Rica have seen their ten-game winless streak finally come to an end on Saturday when they defeated Chile in a 2-3 win. They will be coming into their match against Peru quite confident and hopeful that they can continue their success and show their improved performance at the Estadio de la Universidad Nacional San Agustin.

Costa Rica have been consistently impressive in scoring goals recently and Ronald Gonzalez is boasting an attacking approach which may be the key for them to win Wednesday’s fixture despite Peru bagging rock-solid records at their home turf and looking for confidence of their own. Peru, on the other hand, have seen a change in their list of players after their World Cup campaign.

Peru manager Ricardo Careca’s team had quite an unpredictable run with a very challenging schedule since the World Cup, with several defeats to the likes of Netherlands and Germany, a victory against Chile, a draw with United States and most recently, their defeat to Ecuador. They will surely be looking forward to improve their inconsistent performance in the fixture against Costa Rica.

This match will be the sides’ fifth head-to-head battle ever with Costa Rica still seeking their first win against their opponents. In the meantime, Peru have managed to bag the victories in all of their three previous encounters which includes two stunning victories at their home ground. The two teams haven’t met in recent years though, their last meeting was over six years ago and a lot have surely changed for both sides and both are desperate to bag Wednesday’s win.
