Hull City v Man Utd – KC Satdium at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1
With both of these sides winning their opening 2 Premier League matches and covering on the Asian Handicap betting market in each game, this is an interesting match up.
Man Utd come into the match as short favourites at 1.50, unsurprising when you look at their head to head record. Hull haven’t beaten the Red Devils in their last 11 meetings, losing 10 of those.
Confidence will be high amongst the Tigers though, after defeating the champions Leicester in the season opener and impressing in an away win against Swansea last weekend.
Hull also ran out winners against Exeter in the league cup this midweek, and they will look to make it hard for the much improved United this weekend.
Things looked bad for Hull coming into the new season, with no permanent manager and the future of the club up in the air.
Their squad looked dangerously thin, and no investment was expected, but the players have got on with the job and have been awarded for their efforts. Their squad still needs some additions and a relegation battle is still expected but fans couldn’t have asked for more at this stage.
Jose Mourinho and his new look Utd have hit the ground running. Two wins from 2, and a return of some attacking football, lost in the past couple of years under LVG, has returned to the Red Devils.
New additions like Zlatan Ibrahimovic, 3 goals in 2 matches and the early signs that Pogba is worth every penny have boosted the morale in the rest of the squad. Rooney is performing well in a more attacking role and defensively, they still look strong.
United are certainly full of confidence and expectation and so far they are living up to it. They are by far the better team on paper here and are priced at 1.84, -1 on the Asian Handicap betting market.
They have found the back of the net 5 times in their opening 2 matches. United have been leading at half time in each of their league matches and offer some value -0.5 first half at 2.10 for that trend to continue.
Although I think the visitors will go in at half time with the lead, I don’t see them running away with this. Hull have proved stubborn, and despite some selection troubles in defence, they have held their own.
Under 2.5 goals at 1.91 offers some value here but I can’t back it with too much confidence as we are still learning what this Utd side can do. Jose Mourinho would take a simple 1-0 away win here, but they are capable of more.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Man Utd -0.5 First Half at 2.10
