Germany v Serbia – Volkswagen Arena at 19:35 GMT
Germany will host Serbia at the Volkswagen Arena on Wednesday night as the two teams take on each other in an international friendly. This is a crucial match for the hosts. The once invincible team has really gone through a disastrous patch in the past year. Despite a shaky campaign, the hosts should come on strong and dominate in front of their home fans.
After their disappointing performance in the 2018 World Cup, Germany only managed to win two of their last six fixtures since. They also finished last in their Nations League group after a deadlock with Netherlands at home in their last meeting.
To make things worse, Joachim Low made a controversial decision to remove Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng in the line-up. However, Germany still boast a lot of several experienced and terrific players in their squad. The Germans should be relying on Werner, Sane, and Reus to provide strong attacking prowess on Wednesday.
Serbia, on the other hand, are quite promising as evident in their recent performances. Despite being knocked out of the World Cup by the end of the group stages, they managed to win four and drew two of their six fixtures. However, none of their rivals during this period of time were on the same level of play as the Germans.
The visitors should come into this game with quite a decent attacking play. Dusac Tadic is in a terrific form at Ajax at the moment. His most remarkable performance came in the Champions League as the Dutch outfit caused Real Madrid to get knocked out of the competition. Meanwhile, Aleksandar Mitrovic has a fantastic record of 23 goals in his 46 appearances for Serbia.
– It was reported that Thomas Muller, Mats Hummels, and Jerome Boateng will no longer be considered for international duty.
– Germany may also be without Leon Goretzka due to injury.
– Ljubomir Fejsa remains a doubt for Serbia.
