Flamengo v Santa Cruz – Maracanã at 21:00
Our final Asian handicap bet for the weekend will come on Sunday afternoon when we take a look at the fixture between Flamengo and Santa Cruz, if you use Eastbridge’s sports betting brokerage you could get up to 10 ticks more value than you otherwise would by betting with UK bookmakers.
The title race in the top flight of Brazil is really hotting up and it seems like it is now a four horse race with Palmerias, Flamengo, Atletico MG and Santos all in the running to be crowned champions in what is probably the hardest league to win in South America.
Flamengo will host Santa Cruz who for all intense purposes look doomed to relegation back to Brazil’s second flight after just one season back at the top level. After a great start to the season Santa Cruz’ form has tailed off dramatically and they now sit 10 points from safety with just ten games to play!
In midweek Santa had the chance to upset top of the table Palmeiras when they welcomed them to Arruda on Tuesday evening but with an 80th minute winner by Guedes for Palmeiras it seemed as though things just weren’t meant to be for the Santa faithful.
The effects of Tuesday’s loss on the players were very visible at full time on Tuesday evening when the players sunk to the floor on their knees at full time knowing that their chances of survival now were slim at best!
It was predicted that Flamengo would push for a top half finish this campaign, former Shakthar midfielder Alan Patrick has been involved in a large portion of Flamengo’s goals this season having bagged four goals himself and put ten assists on for his team mates.
Flamengo have won six of their last eight games in the Brazilian top flight and in the games they didn’t win they still managed to pick up at least a point, going unbeaten in eight games in Brazil is such a difficult task but you wouldn’t expect it to become anything other than nine this coming weekend.
Flamengo are chasing their sixth ever title in their history and they sit just three points behind leaders Palmeiras, the title race should come down to the wire this season but they don’t have each other to play so it’s going to be sides results against other teams that makes the difference.
You have to feel that Flamengo have the hardest run in going into the back end of the season so this result could be huge for them to continue their strong run!
If you use Eastbridge’s sports betting brokerage you have the chance to gain an extra seven ticks on this value bet!
