Most exciting transfers of the January Window 2019

January transfer window has been one of the most anticipated events in European football as it never failed to intrigue, stun and shock people with the wildest rumours and jaw-dropping actual signups.

Now that the month is going to an end, headlines such as Frenkie de Jong’s eventual transfer from the Eredivisie team Ajax to La Liga top club Barcelona this summer continue to make waves of awe and excitement with the upcoming fixtures that will be thrilling us for the rest of the season.

Here are five major transfers that went hot in the headlines today:

Gonzalo Higuaín was Juventus centre-forward. He is currently on loan from the Italian club to the Premier League team Chelsea, which he joined last Wednesday this week for fee of £8.10m. Higuain was to rejoin the Italian top-tier less than six-months from now on 30th June this year. It will be the first time for the English forward to join the English top-tier.

Higuain is a three-time Italian Cup winner: First, as SSC Napoli back in 2013-14, then as Juventus both the 2016-17 and 2017-18 season. He is also the top scorer in the Serie A back in the 2015-16 season with 36 goals made.

Higuain also left a mark in La Liga as he is a two-time Spanish Super Cup winner as Real Madrid in the 2012-13 season and 2008-09 season. He is also a Spanish Champion as the same Spanish club in three seasons 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2011-12.

Kevin-Prince Boateng left Serie A club Sassuolo last Tuesday this week to join the Spanish top-tier team FC Barcelona. He is currently on loan in the La Liga side with a loan fee of £900k. He is scheduled to play again for the Italian top-tier on 30th June this year.

Boateng is an English League Cup Winner as player in Tottenham back in 2008. He is also a German Cup Winner in the 2017-18 season as Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Italian Champion as AC Milan in the 2010-11 season.

Leonardo Balerdi left the Argentine top-tier to experience European football earlier this month 14th January. He left Boca Juniors for the Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee of £13.95m. His contract with the German team extends until 2024.

Max Wöber is on loan from Eredivisie club AFC Ajax to La Liga side Sevilla FC. The loan went effective on Wednesday last week. He is set to rejoin the Dutch top-tier on 30th June this year, and is scheduled to complete his transfer to the Spanish club on 1st July.

Wöber is an Austrian Youth League U16 Champion as player in AKA Rapid Wien U16 back in 2013-14.

Munir El Haddadi transferred last 11th January from Barcelona to Sevilla for a fee of £945k. This Spanish forward has been with Barcelona from his junior career. He has been with Barca since 2012 and it will be his first time to complete a transfer to a different club for over seven years, although he has been on loan to Valencia and Alaves within his stay with the club.

Munir was a top scorer and UEFA Youth League Winner in the 2013-14 season of the UEFA U19. he also made 11 goals in the UEFA Youth League back in the 2013-24 season which made him the top scorer in that span. He is also part of the Barcelona squad that won the FIFA Club World Cup Winner both in 2015 and 2016.
