FA Cup Asian Handicap Previews – 16th February Saturday

Newport County v Manchester City Live at BT Sport 2

Newport will be hosting English top-tier champions Manchester City on Saturday. Recently, the Exiles are known stunners in the FA Cup, beating top-tier club Leicester City 2-1. They also defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 earlier this month after sharing a draw with them in the previous month.

Later in the previous month, Newport also scored a 4-0 win over Wrexham after holding a goalless draw against them. They also won against Met Police in the First Round of the FA Cup, making 1-2.

The Exiles have been in bad shape though in the League Two with losses to Grimsby Town 3-0, Crewe Alexandra 3-2, and Stevenage FC 1-0 within their latest form. Nonetheless, they have wins over Mansfield Town 1-0 and Exeter City 1-0.

On the other hand, Manchester City just thrashed Burnley last month in the Fourth Round, scoring 5-0. Prior to that, they also hammered Rotherham 7-0 in the Third Round.

The Citizens will be bragging a three-game winning streak on Saturday with wins over Everton 0-2, and Arsenal 3-1. They also hammered Chelsea 6-0. They fell to Newcastle United though, losing 2-1. They are in a four-game winning streak prior to that defeat with victories over Huddersfield 0-3, Wolverhampton 3-0, Liverpool 2-1, and Southampton 1-3.

In their UEFA Champions League campaign, Man City have excellent form beating TSG Hoffenheim twice 2-1 and 1-2. They also made a 2-2 draw with Olympique Lyon after losing to them 1-2 September last year. Furthermore, they have beaten Shakhtar Donetsk twice 6-0 and 0-3.

Phil Foden is expected to score a draw on Saturday after the talented youngster scored three goals in five local cup matches for Man City. Henceforth, Man City exhibits notable strength in away games, so the guests are expected to dominate the field in Newport.

Brighton v Derby Live at BT Sport 2

Brighton will play hosts to Derby County on Saturday at American Express Community Stadium. The Seagulls had one tough start to the new FA Cup season as they held matches with Bournemouth and West Brom earlier this year. Nevertheless, they had taken victories over Bournemouth 1-3, as well as to West Brom 1-3 after making a goalless draw with the Baggies.

However, Brighton have a terrible form lately in the Premier League, obtaining losses against Burnley 1-3, Fulham 4-2, Manchester United 2-1, as well as to Liverpool 0-1. Their best fixture conclusion were draws in the new current year with Watford 0-0 and West Ham 2-2. The Seagulls’ last win was a 1-0 victory over Everton last December.

In their FA Cup campaign, the Rams are also unbeaten with wins over Accrington St. 0-1 and Southampton 5-7 in the previous month after sharing a 2-2 draw with the Saints earlier in January.

With Brighton possessing some fine guns in its squad in the like sof Glenn Murray, Shane Duffy, and Florin Andone, the hosts are expected to emerge as victors against Derby, not to even mention their home court advantage.

AFC Wimbledon v Millwall

Kingmeadow will sea Wimbledon face Millwall on Saturday. The Dons wll be hoping to extend their excellent form in the FA Cup, bragging a  four-game winning streak. Their last game in the cup concluded in a 4-2 victory against West Ham. Prior to that win they also scored a 2-3 win against Fleetwood and a 1-3 victory over Halifax Town. The Wombles are also champions in their match with Haringey earlier this season.

In their EFL Cup campaign, Wimbledon lost to West Ham 1-3 and won 1-2 over Portsmouth in August last year.

However, the Dons are maintaining a bad form in the League One so far after losing 0-2 to Burton Albion, 1-0 to Sunderland, 1-4 to Barnsley FC, as well as 0-3 to Fleetwood and 2-2 to Portsmouth. Their latest win is a 0-1 to Walsall last Tuesday.

The Lions, on the other hand, are excellent as well in the FA Cup. in the Third Round of the cup, they scored a 2-1 win against Hull City, while they also beat Everton 3-2 in the Fourth Round from the previous month.

In the EFL Cup, Millwall fell to Fulham 1-3 last September in the Third Round, but they made a win over Plymouth 3-2 in the second round and a 3-1 victory against Gillingham FC in the First Round.

In their Championship career, the Lions made three consecutive wins later in the previous year with wins over Ipswich, Nottingham Forest, and Reading. Their recent matches have been plagued with losses though, falling to Swansea 1-0 and Blackburn 0-2. They also shared draws with Shelf Wed 0-0, Rotherham 0-0, and Middlesbrough 1-1.

As the Dons never won a match with the Lions in their head-to-head history, Millwall is expected to dominate in this game on Saturday.
