Aldershot Town v Portsmouth Asian Handicap Preview – Wednesday 19th November

Recreation Ground – 19th November 19:45

The magic and glamour of the FA Cup heads to the Recreation Ground  tonight as Aldershot host Portsmouth in this First Round Replay. The first match finished 2-2 with Danny Holland’s late header rescuing a replay for Portsmouth.

Aldershot have been well backed for this with a lot of tipsters expecting the non-league side to upset their League Two rivals. Aldershot, however, have been poor at home this season winning only 4 of their last 11. The Shots will also be without some influential players, Mark Phillips, Jayden Gibbs and Jordan Roberts are all side-lined with Josh Scott only a possibility.

Similar to Aldershot’s home form, Pompey’s away form has left something to be desired. They are sitting 13th in League Two, a position that could be a lot worse if it wasn’t for their home record. They’ve only scored 3 away from home this term but they shouldn’t have as many problems breaking down their oppositions defence this evening.

Portsmouth have not won an FA Cup game since the 2010 final, which they lost to Chelsea, but will stop that poor run today. I expect this to be an open match with goals from both sides with Pompey coming out on top. For a good value bet, back Portsmouth To Win and Both Teams To Score @ 5.5. My advised trade on the Asian Handicap is Portsmouth -0.25 @ 2.00.
