Everton v Tottenham – Goodison Park at 15:00

The final week of the Premier League season seems to have come round pretty quickly and Asian handicap betting professionals will be keen to make it pay, so we have done the heavy lifting for you in this preview.

Way back in August a lot of people would have thought Everton against Tottenham on the last day of the season, could have effectively been a top six or top four playoff game. Unfortunately for Roberto Martinez and his team, they have been way off that level for the vast majority of the season and even a win here can only guarantee a tenth place finish.

The Toffees will be glad to see the back of the 2014/15 season and Martinez might be privately thankful that he can focus his attention on the Premier League next year without the distraction of a Europa League campaign to stretch his small squad beyond its limits.

Tottenham will also be somewhat glad to see the season come to an end, their continued inconsistency over the majority of the campaign has again left the fans frustrated with the inability to break into the top four and qualify for the Champions League.

In recent weeks it almost seems as though they realise that their league campaign was hampered by the same Europa League issue that impaired their host’s aspirations as well. However, Spurs are almost certain to qualify for the Europa League again this term because if strong favourites Arsenal lift the FA Cup next weekend, the seventh place side in the Premier League will also get a Europa League place.

Everton’s form had been excellent through March and April, when they won five and drew one of six games including a 3-0 win over Manchester United. However, since that victory over United their results have dropped off with back to back losses against Aston Villa and Sunderland, but they did manage to pick up a somewhat lucky three points at West Ham last time out.

But, they have been tough to beat at home with just two defeats against fellow top half teams at Goodison this year. Spurs will have to be at their best to take all three points away from Merseyside on the last day of the season.

As mentioned Spurs have again been inconsistent throughout this campaign and this can clearly been seen in their results against teams of a similar level to Everton. With defeats against Stoke and Crystal Palace contrasted with victories over Swansea, West Ham and West Brom.

Everton come into the final game with a number of players missing, Leighton Baines, Bryan Oviedo & Steven Pienaar are all injured and Aaron Lennon is unable to face his parent club. Spurs are still without full backs Kyle Walker and Ben Davies but replacement Danny Rose scored last time out, so he will enjoy another start this weekend.

Based on our algorithm prices there is a little bit of value on the home side and when we look at the Asian handicap betting lines for this match, we can see that most bookies have set the line at 0.25 for this final match of the season.

Spurs have not won at Everton in the league for seven years and although they have a very good away record this season, it is hard to see them reversing that winless trend against a resolute Everton on Sunday afternoon.
