Everton v Manchester City Asian Handicap Preview – Wednesday 6th January

Everton v Man City – Goodison Park at 20:00 live on Sky Sports 1

Everton host Man City at Goodison Park tomorrow night in the 1st leg of an exciting Capital One Cup semi final. Both sides form has been somewhat inconsistent of late with Man City struggling on the road and Everton failing to win at home in their last 4 outings.

The Citizens come in to the tie as 1.30 favourties to qualify and the Toffee’s know they will need a positive result from the home tie in order to stand a chance of making the final.

Going forward Everton have been excellent, scoring 36 goals in their opening 20 league matches, only City and Tottenham have scored more. Knowing they need something from tomorrow they will push forward and with the likes of Lukaku, Deulofeu and Barkley they should break down the slightly shaky City defence.

However, having to push forward is likely to leave gaps, as it has done all season. The Merseysiders have only managed 1 clean sheet at home in the BPL and that was against bottom placed Aston Villa. There has to be goals in this one and the 1.91 on Over 2.75 goals on the Asian Line offers a bit of value.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side head into the game as 2.10 favourites despite having one just 1 away match in their last 7 league outings. However, in their 3 matches in the league cup so far they have scored 18 goals in an easy route to the semi finals.

The pressure will certainly be on the visitors as last season finished without a trophy and although the league cup is the least glamorous of the domestic honours, a piece of silverware is important to a club as highly regarded as City.

This one is a difficult one to call due to each teams form, home and away respectively. Everton’s draw against in-form Spurs on Sunday shows they are capable of getting something out of a game even when being out-played. However, their defence cannot be trusted still and it’s quite possible that City, although not firing on all cylinders could put a few past them.

I can’t see an advantage on the Asian Handicap betting market for this one but it should be a great game and one that should see goals.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.75 at 1.91
