Everton v Crystal Palace – Goodison Park at 20:00 live on Sky Sports 1

Everton, currently 6 games unbeaten in all competitions welcome Crystal Palace to Goodison Park this evening. The Eagles’ form has been inconsistent of late, but they come into the game on the back of a 5-1 win over Newcastle last weekend.

Crystal Palace currently sit 8th in the table having W7-D1-L6 this season, 4 of those 7 victories coming on the road. Since Alan Pardew took over in January, only Arsenal have earned more points away from home and have they taken 3 points from Goodison Park on each of their last 2 visits.

Goals had been hard to come by for Palace prior to last  weekend’s result, with just 3 goals in their previous 5 league matches. Having scored 7 in their last 3 though, including a 2-1 win at home to Liverpool shows they have to quality going forward to cause Everton some problems.

They also boast one of the best defensive records in the Premier League, conceding 14 goals so far this season. Only Arsenal, Man Utd and Tottenham have conceded fewer, but they will need to be at their best to halt an impressive Everton attacking side.

The Toffee’s have scored 14 goals in their last 4 league matches, with Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley scoring 8 between them in that period.

They come into this match on the back of a 3-3 draw with Bournemouth last weekend having gone two goals up, conceding in the 96th minute to come away with a single point. They will be looking to put that result behind them and get back to winning ways this evening, with a victory putting them up to 6th in the table.

With the likes of Barkley, Lukaku and Deulofeu, Everton are the better attacking side and with home advantage the hosts are rightly 2.05 favourties. I expect Palace to pose a threat to the Toffee’s and should find a way to break them down, however I think Everton are good value to outscore them.

Backing Everton -0.5 on the Asian Handicap betting market at 2.05 is my value bet but I’m also recommending Over 2.5 goals at 1.85. Both sides have been amongst the goals of late and 5 of Everton’s 7 matches at Goodison have seen 3 or more goals this term.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Everton -0.5 at 2.05 & Over 2.5 goals at 1.85
