BSC Young Boys v Everton Asian Handicap Preview – Thursday 18th February

BSC Young Boys v Everton – Stade de Suisse at 18:00 live on ITV4

Everton won their group and had two very good wins, covering the Asian Handicap, over Wolfsburg who are flying high in the Bundesliga to set up this tie with BSC Young Boys of Switzerland.

Any Everton fans looking to this game as an easy one is mistaken, you just have to take a look at Young Boy’s home record in Europe to show you this will be a tough match. Young boys have won their last 7 European fixtures at home which includes 5 this season, scoring 13 goals and conceding just once.

Everton’s poor domestic season continues, winning only 1 from 11 in all competitions but they seem to play their best football in the Europa League. Roberto Martinez knows that his poor league displays can be forgotten, as long as safety is ensured, with a good run in Europe. Not only would a piece of silverware go along way but also playing in the Champions League next season will keep the treasurer happy.

Young Boys are currently second in the Swiss league and are unbeaten in their last 5 matches. They are also fresh off a winter break which is good news with regards to fitness of players.

Everton go into this match with Leicester to face on Sunday so I would imagine they will play a mixture of 1st team players as well as bench players in order to manage fatigue. They still face injury concerns with Baines, Hibbert & McGeady all doubtful along with Osman and Pienaar who remain sidelined.

From Young Boys’ 3 home group matches and Everton’s 3 away, only one has had over 2.5 goals so I’m not expecting a goal fest here. Looking at the Over/Under market, Under 2.5 is priced at 1.81 which could be worth a punt.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: BSC Young Boys +0.25 @ 1.81

Tottenham V Fiorentina – White Hart Lane at 20:05 live on BT Sport 2

Tottenham Hotspur were a little disappointing in their Europa League group, finishing in second place behind Beskitas and landing themselves a tough draw against Group K winners Fiorentina.

Tottenham’s form coming into this tie has been patchy at best but they are scoring plenty of goals with youngster Harry Kane forcing his way to the forefront of the England team with his unerring knack of finding the back of the net.

Fiorentina won all three of their Europa League away games while conceding just one goal in the process, also the Viola have only lost three away games all season in Serie A. Their defence has been particularly impressive and with just 13 goals conceded on the road they are the second best away team in Italy.

This looks an incredibly tough game for Asian Handicap backers to call and with the line set at 0.25 they will be hopeful that the match plays out as close on the field as it looks on paper.

Fiorentina are unbeaten in eight games and should be confident of scoring an away goal at White Hart Lane tonight, having scored in all but two of their away games this season. Spurs have also only failed to score in two of their home games and despite this being a first leg match, Over 2.5 Goals at 1.85 is tempting.

Spurs look to be a touch short even though they are at home, based on their Europa League and current form they will do well to beat a confident Fiorentina team that has won 7 of 9 away games in Europe.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Fiorentina +0.25 @ 2.02
