EFL Cup Asian Handicap Previews – Wednesday 20th December

Bristol City v Manchester United

Bristol City has done exceptionally well to reach the quarterfinals of this year’s Carabao Cup, and the Robins are the only side outside of the top-flight still in the competition.

The welcome Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United to Ashton Gate on Wednesday evening in a match that should have all of the country watching.

Currently sitting in 3rd in the Championship table, the Robins have been in excellent form this year. On Saturday they continued that fine form with a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest. With just four points separating Bristol and rivals Cardiff City in second, the Robins will be going for automatic promotion.

In Manchester United, they face one of the country’s best sides. Jose Mourinho has got his side well-drilled this year as they look to challenge cross-city rivals Manchester City for the title.

Mourinho could rest some key men for this, but any side he puts out will be strong. Ashton Gate will be bouncing and the fans will look to make things hard for Mourinho’s men.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Bristol City 1.00 at 2.250

Chelsea v Bournemouth

The less exciting of the two games on Wednesday is an all-Premier League clash at Stamford Bridge.

Eddie Howe’s men have struggled this season and currently find themselves in 16th place in the Premier League. Sunday’s 4-0 loss at the hands of Liverpool will have come at no surprise, but Howe will know his men come up against another difficult opponent here.

The Carabao Cup certainly presents a fantastic opportunity for Howe to earn silverware with the Cherries. Whether his side can overcome Antonio Conte’s men is the first task at hand, though.

Conte has been known to rest players for clashes in this competition and could look to do the same here. Ethan Ampadu has impressed in the limited game time has had since joining from Exeter and could be handed his second start for the Blues here.

This will be a tough game to predict. At full-strength, Chelsea should dominate but if the kids are trusted, it could backfire on Conte.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Bournemouth 1.50 at 2.111
