Crystal Palace v Liverpool – Selhurst Park at 17:30 live on BT Sport 1

For my second Asian Handicap preview on Saturday, my attention turns to Selhurst Park, where Crystal Palace host Liverpool. With just one clean sheet between the two teams in the Premier League this season, I’m confident that we’ll see goals.

Crystal Palace

It’s been an up and down opening 9 fixtures for the Eagles. They lost their first two matches before going on a 5 match unbeaten run, W3 D2. However, they come into this match having suffered back to back defeats and are without a win in their last 3.

Defensively they are poor, conceding at least one goal in each of their 9 matches in the EPL this season. They have a habit of making things difficult for themselves, going behind in 78% of their games, trailing at half time in 56% of fixtures.

Playing at home hasn’t been an advantage for Palace. They have picked up just 4 points at home this season, with 64% of their points being earned on the road. Unsurprising then that they come into this as 4.85 underdogs.

Liverpool

The Reds are the form team in the league. The only thing that separates them and league leaders City is goal difference. They are unbeaten in their last 10 outings in all competitions, averaging 2.6 goals per game.

Liverpool have the second best away record in division and will be confident of picking up another 3 points this Saturday. For me they offer some value at 1.81.

Jurgen Klopp’s focus is clearly on attack and they remain vulnerable at the back. Liverpool have registered just one clean sheet in 9 league matches this season. I fully expect Palace to take advantage of Liverpool’s leaky defence but their attack, like all season will more than cover any defensive shortfalls.

Asian Handicap & Total Goals

I like Liverpool’s price of 1.81 to win this one and I think there will be some interest in backing them -0.75 on the Asian Handicap market at 2.04. There is more value in backing Over 2.75 on the Asian goals line though.

Liverpool have failed to keep a clean sheet in their last 10 away matches, whilst Palace have conceded in every league match this season. We should see a minimum of 3 goals here which would land us a half win but I’m confident of picking up a full profit.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Over 2.75 goals at 2.05
