Chelsea v Middlesbrough Asian Handicap Preview – Monday 8th May

Chelsea v Middlesbrough – Stamford Bridge at 20:00 live on Sky Sports 1

We start this week’s Asian Handicap previews at Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea closing the Premier League title.

They host Middlesbrough tonight, who will be relegated tonight if they lose and even a draw is not really enough.

Victory over lowly Boro will see Antonio Conte take a huge step towards becoming another title winning debut manager for Chelsea.

The seven point gap a win would open up to second placed Tottenham, would be virtually unassailable at this late stage of the campaign.

The Blues have not had it all their own way in recent weeks and had until last week, conceded in 11 consecutive Premier League matches.

However, with 14 wins in 16 home games this season Conte and his team will be supremely confident of claiming all three points tonight.

Steve Agnew’s stint as Boro’s caretaker manager looks nailed on to end in relegation to the Championship.

Even a hugely unlikely victory in West London tonight, would not see them escape the drop zone.

Despite the virtually inevitable fate they are facing, the Boro are not going down without a fight.

A 1-0 win over Sunderland was followed up by a gritty 2-2 draw against Manchester City last week.

Should their hosts exhibit any nerves under the Monday night lights, the Boro will be determined to make the game as difficult as possible.

Asian Handicap Prices & Data…

Naturally, Chelsea are very short favourites to win this match with prices as low as 1.13 on the hosts to win in 90mins.

Their Asian Handicap line for the game is set at -2, where they can be backed at 1.86, while Boro are 2.09 with a +2 head start.

The Asian Total Goals line is set at an interesting 3.25 with Over at 2.03 and Under at 1.88.

The goal line is of interest here because Boro have been decent in defence all season and Under 3.25 Goals would have made a profit in 6 of 8 Boro games against Top 6 opponents.

However, they have conceded 8 goals in their previous 2 away matches, against Bournemouth and Hull.

Have to side with the value here, but hopefully Middlesbrough don’t collapse if they fall behind. Plus, with Chelsea playing again on Friday night we can hope they take their foot off the gas once they get 2-0 up.

Asian Handicap Recommendation: Under 3.25 Goals at 1.88
