Champions League Asian Handicap Previews – Wednesday 13th September

Liverpool v Sevilla

The international break couldn’t have come at a worse time for Jurgen Klopp. After the 4-0 defeat of Arsenal, the German would’ve wanted to continue his side’s momentum. In Manchester City, though, his side lost all momentum. A 5-0 defeat, which was not helped by the sending off of Sadio Mane during the first half, meant that many in Merseyside will be hitting the panic button.

It’s easy to do that, but fans should keep the faith in Klopp’s project. The German manager has some bright young players coming through at Anfield and I’m sure it won’t be too long until they see success.

In Sevilla, Klopp and his side will be looking for revenge. In 2016, the Spanish side beat Liverpool 3-1 in the Europa League final, ending the Reds dream of European success that season. The Reds will be wanting to do everything they can to beat the Spaniards this time around.

After the defeat to Manchester City, Klopp could make changes. Loris Karius could return in goal, Joe Gomez could replace Trent Alexander-Arnold and Dejan Lovren could regain his place after Ragnar Klavan’s hapless display on the weekend. Alberto Moreno played admirably against the Citizens, so expect him to keep his place against his former side.

In midfield, we could see the return of Philippe Coutinho, the man in which the focus was on regularly during the summer. He’s clearly fit to play after his outing with Brazil, so Reds fans will be anxious to see whether Klopp calls on him in this game.

Sevilla are certainly no pushovers and will prove a tough opposition for Klopp’s side. Manager Eduardo Berizzo has already warned his players that Liverpool will be ‘wounded’, so he knows he will have to counter their hunger to make things right. Confidence will be high in Seville, with an unbeaten start to the season and a 3-0 drubbing of Eibar on the weekend. I think Los Rojiblancos could upset Liverpool fans once more.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Sevilla 0.25 at 2.820

RB Leipzig v AS Monaco

Two of Europe’s most hipster sides meet in Germany on Wednesday night, in what should be a fascinating tie. Monaco has shown their good and bad side in Ligue 1 in recent weeks. The 6-1 thrashing of Marseille demonstrated how well they can perform without star boy Kylian Mbappe, who departed for PSG this summer on loan. This weekend’s 4-0 loss to Nice, however, showed that they are far from the finished product after losing so many important players this summer.

So far this season, RB Leipzig have shown that last year’s impressive form was no fluke. Despite losing to Schalke on the opening day, they have won their last two games, beating Freiburg and HSV.

They managed to keep star man Naby Keita, who will be watched with intent this season by Liverpool fans, the side he will join next year. Despite being hated throughout Germany, Leipzig has gained admirers across the globe and all eyes will be on the side from Eastern Germany.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Leipzig 0.75 at 2.500

Tottenham v Borussia Dortmund

It’s September and Harry Kane has started to score goals, just in time for the visit of Dortmund to Wembley. They’ve still not managed to win at Wembley, with many claiming a curse is in place, but Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping his side can rise to the occasion when they welcome Dortmund to London on Wednesday.

Dortmund is a tough side to face. New boss Peter Botz seems to have his side well-drilled and is getting the best out of attacker Mario Götze once more. They’ve won two of their opening three matches so far this year and have plenty of quality to hear Tottenham.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Spurs 0.50 at 2.310
