Burnley v Arsenal – Turf Moor at 16:30 live on Sky Sports 1
Arsenal can keep their unbeaten record going this Sunday when they travel to Burnley. It’s not going to be a walk in the park by any means but the Gunners should be confident of winning this one comfortably. At even money they look a good bet to cover -1.5 on the Asian Handicap market.
It’s been a relatively good start to their return to the Premier League for the Clarets. Seven points from a possible 18 see’s them in mid-table and confidence will be high after their win over Watford last Monday.
Burnley’s home form has been their strength, picking up all 7 points at Turf Moor.
A 1-1 draw with Hull, a 2-0 win over high flying Liverpool as well as a 2-0 victory over the Hornets make them a tough proposition this Sunday.
Last season they lost just twice at Turf Moor and their home form will be key to survival this term.
The Clarets opening day defeat against struggling Swansea remains their only real blip on home soil.
Burnley don’t hold a very good recent record against the Gunners. They’ve lost their last three meetings but their solid defence at home should make it difficult for Arsenal.
The Clarets have not conceded more than once at Turf Moor since December 2015. That being said, they have their work cut out to keep that record going this Sunday.
The Gunners are flying! Undefeated since their opening day reversal to Liverpool. They are now third in the Premier League after 4 straight wins and are looking tasty.
Arsene Wenger will mark his 20th year in charge of Arsenal this weekend. Whatever your thoughts on the Frenchman, you can’t deny that he has brought the Gunners forward in so many ways, both on and off the pitch.
Wenger’s decision to play Alexis Sanchez as a central striker is paying dividends. He has 5 goals this term and is looking his best. The absence of Olivier Giroud looks to be a positive at the moment, with Theo Walcott rejuvenated and amongst the goals.
Arsenal have looked superb recently in their wins over Chelsea and Basel in the Champions League and their form promises to continue.
Asian Handicap angle
The Asian Handicap line for this fixture is -1.5. Although Burnley haven’t conceded more than 1 goal at home for 10 months, I think that record ends this Sunday.
Arsenal have won by two or more goals in 5 of their last seven matches and one of the two where they failed to was away to PSG where they drew 1-1.
Another comprehensive Gunners win is on the cards to lift them to second in the EPL.
They have been drifting slightly but at even money to win by 2 or more, Arsenal offer great value.
Asian Handicap Recommendation: Arsenal -1.5 at 2.00
