Bayern Munich v Real Madrid – MetLife Stadium at 00:30 live on Sky Sports 1
Two of Europe’s most successful clubs meet at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey tonight as Bayern Munich face Real Madrid in the International Champions Cup. It see’s former Real boss, Carlo Anchelotti go up against his old team for the first time since leaving the Spanish side and pit his wits against Zinedine Zidane who he managed at Juventus and Madrid.
After dominating the Bundesliga again last season, the Bavarian’s began their pre-season with friendly wins over Landshut and Lippstadt 08 before facing former boss, Pep Guaridola’s new club Manchester City. Die Rotten edged the match, winning 1-0 thanks to a deflected shot for Erdal Ozturk.
Dir Rotten then began their International Champions Cup with an entertaining 3-3 draw with AC Milan. Bayern went on to lose on penalties against Achelotti’s former side but bounced back with an impressive 4-1 win over the Rossoneri’s rivals, Inter Milan. Talented youngster Julian Green bagged a first half hat-trick and Frank Ribery also added to the two goals he netted against AC.
Bayern Munich have been firing in the goals and shouldn’t have too much trouble adding to their ICC 2016 total against Real Madrid later tonight.
Los Blancos traveled to the United States with a weakened squad and it showed in the International Champions Cup opener against PSG where they went down 3-1. A goal from full back, Marcelo made the score a little more respectful but they were outclassed by a strong PSG side. It was a poor performance and one that Zizou wouldn’t have been happy with.
They were much better against Chelsea in their second match, defeating the Blues 3-2, thanks again to Marcelo who netted a brace along with a goal from Mariano Diaz.
Bayern Munich come into the match as 2.16 favourites with Real Madrid available on the Asian Handicap betting market +0.5 at 1.78 or +0.25 at 2.05. Real Madrid are not at full strength and haven’t been playing at their highest level but nor or Munich. The German’s have the better pre-season record but from what I’ve seen they don’t justify to be as short as they are. The value is with the Spanish side on the Asian Handicap betting market.
For my recommendation though, I’m backing Over 2.75 goals on the Asian line. Between the 4 matches both side have played in this years ICC tournament, there have been 20 goals so I’m expecting another open match, and another full profit.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Over 2.75 goals at 1.89
