Allsvenskan Asian Handicap Previews – Sunday 21st August

It’s time again for some Asian betting previews in Allsvenskan. Last round was, as always, tricky and this time it still is. I do have a good feeling about some of the games but it’s hard since clubs still are allowed to sell players. That could mean that the betting thoughts will change. Anyway, here are my three picks of the week.

Hammarby v IFK Göteborg

Classic game with a big rivalry since it is the capital versus the second biggest city in the country. Neither team has reached the top level this season and this game is important for the fans.

Hammarby have re-started and the coach has gone back to a more defensive type of football. That has also given Hammarby some positive results in the last games. No injury concerns, but Smarason and Dibba are suspended.

IFK Göteborg were involved in a tough game against Qarabag in the Europa League on Thursday. Only two days rest and there’s a big question mark on the focus here. Isn’t the game in Europa League more important?

Of course, IFK Göteborg have a better squad and should be motivated in this game if it was a normal round. Now I think the biggest focus for IFK Göteborg will be the game against Qarabag on Thursday and they’ll also be tired after the first game. IFK Göteborg also have some problems on the artificial turf and I think Hammarby have a good chance here.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Hammarby +/- 0 at 2.07

Elfsborg v GIF Sundsvall

Elfsborg should be a team at the top, but a lot of injuries and the bad start has cost them a lot. Now they face GIF Sundsvall, who had a good spring season but lost two key players during the transfer window.

Elfsborg are in a pretty good situation before this game. New signing Daniel Gustavsson will probably start and Emir Bajrami is available again but will probably start on the bench. Lundevall has been sick at the beginning of the week but should be fit here. Elfsborg have a lot of attacking players ready and at home they’re usually strong.

If Elfsborg have a lot of quality up front, GIF Sundsvall hav lost most of it. Pa Dibba was sold to Hammarby and Sigurjonsson has left to go abroad. The replacements aren’t nearly as good and the re-start after the Euros had been weak from Sundsvall.

I don’t see how Elfsborg will loose points here. Their squad is better, form is better and at home Elfsborg always attack. You can choose the -0.5 Asian Hcp-line at 1.50, but I want more and think Elfsborg will keep on attacking even if they score the first goal.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Elfsborg -1 at 1.90

Malmö FF v Jönköpings Södra

Malmö are second in the league, but they have a game in hand on IFK Norrköping. If they win this, they are again top of the league and the motivation should be high. Especially since they lost the first game against J Södra this season.

Malmö have a record of 7-1-1 at home this season. That’s impressive! Sure, Oscar Lewicki is suspended but Enock Adu will replace him without any problems. Malmö will be motivated after the draw against Kalmar last round. Arnason is also back from suspension here.

J Södra were involved in a weird game last round that got interrupted and suspended after an incident where a young guy entered the field and hit Östersunds goalie. The big question is how J Södra have handled the situation and how focused the team are on this game. Best player Daryl Smylie is suspended.

Malmö really should go out and just win this game. With the best squad in the league, there should be some goals here and with players like Rosenberg, Kjartansson, Eikrem and Berget I would be surprised if Malmö just score one goal.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Malmö -1.5 at 1.95
