Swansea v Man Utd Asian Handicap Betting Preview – Sunday 30th August

Swansea v Man Utd – Liberty Stadium at 16:00 live on Sky Sports 1

Man Utd travel back from Bruges on a high after thumping Club Brugge 4-0 on Wednesday to win their Champions League tie 7-1 earning a place in the group stages after a years absence.

The Red Devils now head to Swansea where they will face a much tougher test than the Belgian champions and possibly their toughest test so far this season.

Swansea have started the season well, firstly with a 2-2 draw against title holders Chelsea, a match they could have and maybe should have won. They then defeated Newcastle at home 2-0, something Utd failed to do last week, before a 1-1 draw at the Stadium of Light.

Gary Monk also knows how to beat Louis Van Gaals men, proving so twice last term with 2-1 victories both home and away. They rode their luck at Old Trafford but I fully expect Monk to execute the same game plan this Sunday and go for the win.

United will be full of confidence after their win in mid-week where nothing but positives can be taken from the game. However, anyone who thinks that United will start blowing their opposition away, especially now Rooney has ended his drought, should be cautious.

Club Brugge were without a number of key players and played a very open match, chasing the 2 goal deficit from the first leg. This gave Utd loads of space to hit them on the counter-attack. They will not get anywhere near that amount of space at the Liberty Stadium.

Man Utd have only scored 2 goals in their 3 matches in the Premier League and before last week’s Newcastle game had only 3 shots on target in their first 2 matches. That drastically improved against the Magpies, who are not as organised as the Swans, but failed to find the back of the net.

United head in to the match as favourties at 2.20 which is a little on the short side for me, especially when considering they only won 6 of their 19 away matches last season.

They do seem to have tightened up their defence but the Swans have scored in all 3 of their league games so far, including 2 against last years best defence and I expect them to be the first to put one past Utd in the league.

The value has to be with the home side, I don’t see Swansea losing. The 2.03 available on Swansea +0.25 on the Asian Handicap betting market is a juicy price, which will see us profit if they avoid defeat.

Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Swansea +0.25 at 2.03
