Sevilla v Liverpool Asian Handicap Previews – Tuesday 21st November

Sevilla v Liverpool – Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium at 19:45

Liverpool head to Spain with a point to prove in Europe. Whilst the Reds have seen off Maribor comfortably, but have struggled to break down their group rivals Sevilla and Spartak Moscow.

Grudge Match

Spanish side Sevilla and Liverpool have history and it’s hard to ignore it. Before the 2-2 draw in September, the last time the two sides met was the Europa League final in May 2016. It was a heated final, with Sevilla taking the trophy back to Spain with a 3-1 win.

Liverpool fans will want to get one back on their Spanish rivals, and having failed to do so at Anfield in September, the Reds will be hoping to do so in Seville.

Reds Hitting Form

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are certainly hitting form. After the shocking 4-1 loss to Spurs in October, the Reds have gone unbeaten and have been scoring goals for fun.

On the weekend, Klopp welcomed Southampton to Anfield and ran out comfortable winners in a 3-0 result. What impressed many, and would’ve pleased Klopp the most, was not the attacking flair but the defensive solidity. It was another clean sheet, on a day in which Virgil Van Dijk finally played at Anfield, but not for the side he would’ve hoped for.

On the attacking front, Klopp’s side is at their best. Scoring three against Southampton meant that the Reds picked up where they left off before the international break, where they beat West Ham 4-1.

Mohamed Salah has been in incredible form, scoring 14 goals already this season, and his form seems to be inspiring his attacking team-mates. Coutinho is hitting top form, too, whilst Klopp welcomes back Adam Lallana to the fold this week.

What to expect?

Sevilla is a good side and prepared for the visit of the Reds with a 2-1 win against Celta Vigo. Eduardo Berizzo has his side well-drilled and will be looking to frustrate Klopp’s side.

That said, Klopp’s men are on form and should have too much quality for their Spanish opponents.
