Sunday in the Premier League leaves lots to play for. Champions League qualification is up for grabs for two sides, while there’s still a mathematical chance of survival for Swansea City. Here’s the preview of the games that matter on Sunday in the final matchday of this Premier League season.
Liverpool v Brighton
We start with the race for the top four, which is certainly in Liverpool’s hands. Despite losing to Chelsea last weekend, the Reds only need a point to confirm fourth place. That is because Chelsea, who had a game in hand, could only pick up a point at home to Huddersfield.
With Brighton already confirmed to survive this season, it’s hard to see Brighton’s stars too up for this game. Liverpool, on the other hand, will be fighting not only for a top-four finish, but to prove themselves to Jurgen Klopp ahead of the Champions League final.
What will disappoint Klopp, though, is that this game matters. He’d have liked to have rested his stars for the final day, but with it all to play for, he has to go for it.

Swansea City v Stoke
That 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge meant that relegation was all but confirmed for Swansea City. Carlos Carvalhal side can mathematically survive, but they’d need to win here and rely on Southampton losing by 8 goals or more. It seems unlikely.
It spells the end of the Swans in the Premier League, which will disappoint their fans with Cardiff overtaken them into the Premier League for next year.
Stoke players, who are already down, will want to put on a show to put themselves in the shop window in the summer.

Newcastle v Chelsea
The point against Huddersfield will have frustrated Antonio Conte, who knows it is well and truly out of their hand to qualify for next year’s Champions League now.
This could well be Conte’s last game in charge of the Blues, with a departure rumored for the majority of the season. Failure to qualify for the Champions League after winning the league last year will surely be unacceptable to owner Roman Abramovich.
A send-off for Conte, but a celebration for Rafa Benitez, whose side have defied expectations this year.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Newcastle 0.75 at 2.300
Southampton v Manchester City
When a relegation fight is on your hands, the last team you want to face on the final day of the season is Manchester City. The champions have pretty much-swept everyone aside this year but showed in last week’s goalless draw against Huddersfield that they may have taken their foot off the gas.
The Saints are pretty much safe – it would take a freak scoreline for them to go down instead of Swansea – but Mark Hughes will be hoping to end a miserable season on a high note. The Welshman will also be hoping to prove he is the right manager for the club against his former employers.
Asian Handicap Betting Recommendation: Manchester City -1.25 at 1.990
