Moreirense will be hosting Porto on Friday at Guimaraes, hoping to stun the team on the topmost spot of the Portuguese top-tier.
Last Monday, the Green and Whites beat Belenenses, scoring 0-1, while prior to that they also beat Nacional 2-1 later in the previous month. Before that though they fell to Sporting 2-1, as well as to Vitoria Guimaraes 1-0.
Moreirense had the chance to face Porto last December in the Round of 16 in Taca de Portugal Placard. The match concluded in a 4-3 tally with Porto emerging victorious. Earlier to that, the Green and Whites are winners with wins over Covilha 0-3, and ARS Martinho 0-1.
Porto, on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last 13 games in the Primeira Liga. They shared a goalless draw with Vitoria Guimaraes last Sunday and defeated Belenenses 3-0 last 30th January. They also beat Chaves 1-4 and shared another goalless draw with Sporting CP.
Porto are also unbeaten in their UEFA Champions League campaign with wins over Galatasaray 2-3 and FC Schalke 04 3-1. They also beat Loko Moscow twice 4-1 and 1-3.
The Blues and Whites are also champions in the Cup of Portugal with victories over Leixões 1-2, Belenenses 2-0 and Vila Real 0-6.
– Moreirense defensive midfielder Ibrahima had just joined the team last 31st January and will not be in the squad for the rest of the season.
– Porto striker Moussa Marega is injured with thigh muscle strain and will not play with the squad until March this year.
– Os verdes e brancos’ center-forward Ricardo Almeida will not be in the squad after suffering from cruciate ligament rupture, thus will not appear on Friday.
– Porto forward Vincent Aboubakar is injured with cruciate ligament rupture.
– Dragons midfielder Riechedly Bazoer is on red card suspension until 24th February.
– Porto forward Marius had an unidentified injury with unknown date of return.

Heriberto Tavares is the Green and Whites’ top gun with six goals already made out of his 23 appearances for the season so far. He had 276 minutes per goal with five goals and an assist across 19 appearances for the Liga NOS. He also have a goal and two assists in his three appearances in the Taca de Portugal Placard.
Chiquinho plays as attacking midfielder for Moreirense. He appeared 24 times in the current season from which he scored five goals. He already scored three goals and five assists out of his 20 appearances in the Primeira Liga, as well as two goals and an assist out of three plays for the Taca de Portugal Placard.
Tiquinho Soares is one of Porto’s top scorer, already making fourteen goals out of 22 appearances in the current season. Playing as center-forward for Porto, he made nine goals and two assists so far in the current Liga NOS season. He also has three goals and an assist out of his three plays in the Allianz Cup.
Yacine Brahimi plays as left winger for Porto, appearing 31 times and scoring nine goals for the season. He played 20 times in the Portuguese top-tier, from which he scored seven goals and an assist. He also made a goal and an assist for the team’s Allianz Cup campaign.
Moreirense 1-2 Porto
Moreirense will have home court advantage over Porto on Friday, but the Blues and Whites have been winners in their last two matches against the Green and Whites this season. Last September Porto hammered Moreirense 3-0 in the Liga NOS. Porto defeated them again last December in the Cup of Portugal ending in a 4-3 tally. The hosts are excellent lately with wins over Belenenses and Nacional, but the guests are much more on the edge, being unbeaten since October in the Portuguese top-tier.
